Dany Virgili invites us to attain a new perspective on the world, in this photographic homage to GOYA's Los Caprichos, redefining the paradigms by which we process the monstrous irrational reality in which we survive.

Presented by National Poetry Award Winner José Corredor-Matheos at the recent exhibition held at the Royal Tapestry Factory, the book consists of 3 sections:
In RETRA we are able to appreciate de development of his portraiture, culminating with those of Their Majesties the King and Queen and their Highnesses the Princes Royal. KRON makes up the central axis of his social critique. And in TRADIKCIONES we are called to escape our prison routines, through 365 images recorded over one year.

Manel Esclusa

Barcelona, pell i ombra

Photographer Manel Esclusa lays out for us a powerful yet subtle narrative in black and white through 140 pictures, in this faithfully executed joint edition by Novaera Publications and Barcelona City Hall.
Esclusa shows that he is the photographer of the night and of the city, of lights and of nebulous presences. The photographs, taken between 1980 and 2010, explore and reveal unknown aspects of Barcelona's emblematic landmarks, as well as other spaces that are, by virtue of the artist´s particular vision, less readily identified.
Author Rafael Argullol contributes the introduction, complemented by two poems from Joan Vinyoli, that speak of the night and darkness.

Sketches

Sketches is a highly personal and intimate volume. It embraces sketches, idea outlines, notebook pages… Nothing in this book has been selected by chance, even if it does not follow any specific timeline. It contains what Javier Mariscal has wanted it to contain, using a selection process in which he himself has played with the images and shuffled them around until “they all sit happily with each other”. Mariscal, in addition to rescuing these pictures from their retirement in old folders, decided to add a narrative describing in words the way he draws and he regales us with snippets of his life “in pictures” that provide the clues to understanding why drawing has helped him live his life, as well as inspiring those of us who have had the good fortune to be at the receiving end of his talent.

María Espeus

El Otro (the other)

This book contains the work that María Espeus has executed over two years, through over 180 photographs chosen and laid out by the artist herself. Spaces, subjects and objects are the three pillars on which her visual discourse rests, illustrating -through a finely staged photographic dialogue- Barcelona’s Raval quarter, where she has lived since 1989.

The supreme quality of this creative artist’s work is strikingly expressed in this painstakingly edited volume.
