It was a pile of photos assembled over decades of activity by the weekly magazine Alerta, one of various publications which, since the 1960s, have served up a steady diet of raw street imagery to their readers: photos of lifeless bodies, suspects already condemned by the unbridled power of the crime photographer’s camera, fragile homophobic representations of all manner of deviant sexuality, and a variety of unspeakable objects aimed at the amusement of the public.
